We missed this sign on the way into the park - the big one right near the front entrance. The one that says beware of the alligators...
Stay away from the water...
And especially keep young children or pets away from the water... Uh, huh... best.parents.ever.
And speaking of signs... we should really learn to read... like this one asking people not to play or climb on the sculptures...
What kind of park has big metal things that they don't want kids to climb on? Isn't that what you are supposed to do at the park??
And while I don't recall there being any other signs that we didn't read there could have been a "Lightening kills" sign. Or is that one just expected to be common sense? You know metal + lightening = lightening rod = death by electricution.
For the record... the sky the direction we had been walking was still a light blue with dots of puffy while clouds. And at this point it was Kevin taking the pictures while I was yelling at them to "GET.OFF.NOW." "Before you get hit by lightening!" And trying to remember what you are supposed to do when you find yourself caught out in a field in the middle of the storm.
Because no doubt about it I don't think there there are many worse places to be than right next to the lightening rod out in the middle of an empty field, next to the power lines and the pond.
Yep. No doubt about it. Best.Parents.Ever. They really are lucky to have survived this long...
