Eggstra-special lunch!

Friday at the boys' new school was an optional bring your own lunch day.  Since Easter is just right around the corner I thought it might be nice to do a lunch with a special Easter twist.  So I picked up a small egg crate (8 eggs instead of  a typical 12 or 18 so that it would fit into the boys' lunch boxes) and some plastic Easter eggs.  I filled 8 of the plastic eggs to the brim on both sides with various finger foods (turkey, cheese, mini ritz crackers, carrots, grapes, bunny marshmallows and even a real hard boiled egg) and packed them in the egg crate. I also threw in an extra banana for Ryan, and two mini oranges for Connor just in case they were still hungry after they devoured everything else.  :)

Needless to say it was a BIG hit! The boys loved it so much they started begging the second I picked them up if they could have the same thing for dinner.

We will definitely have to remember this for next year!
